New redesign amongst other stuff
We've been pretty busy as of late with other work so the site has been largely ignored for the last few months. We figured best way to make up for such a lack of love was a redesign!
So what's been going on?!?!
Not a lot has been going on with the site, but'll hopefully change as things have settled down a little bit. We had a couple weeks off so figured we'd redesign the site and add a few new features here and there (most are in the admin section of the site though). We almost actually gave up developing the site as we had not one, but two idle hints of lawsuits over the site. Crazy huh? After leaving things for a while, it was good to start working on it again :)
Now what about the new design? We decided to go for a bright spring look! Lotsa oranges and greens! The last design was very dark and moody, which did kinda suit the cold Winter vibe, but it just didn't feel right now that it's Spring. We're still keeping it simple as it is meant to be an information based site, so you won't find any crazy typographical experiments.
We've also had to rel nofollow the outgoing links as we were hit by some sort of penalty with google, and our rankings dropped. We left it for a couple months in case it was something else, but after eventually deciding to try it out, our rankings improved ten fold. We'll probably leave it as it is for the moment as it'd be next to impossible to work out where the bad outgoing links are. Hopefully noone will mind too much!
