vaccation care discrimination

Upon trying to obtain information on vacation care for April 2008, I have received discrimination as to my special needs child.
I enquired on the 18.2.08 as to April school holidays. My name and address were taken and was told I would receive a package to book.
Today the 18.3.08 I still have not received a package so I called the vacation care centre to find out that all special needs places are filled and that one on one support would be needed for my child whom they don’t have.
I would be more accepting of this news if I was sent an information package and was considered or not considered through means of returning an application form. But to be told there were no places when I have been trying to organise this for 3 months prior to it being needed is appalling!
There is no pigeon hole for special needs children and every one of them have their own special requirements. For a centre that caters for special needs children to discriminate against who they want is very disappointing.
I have done all that is possible to organise care for my child in what I see as more than adequate time to be told "no". Where does this leave me now when there is no one to look after my child during this time due to work commitments, and only 3 weeks to organise it.

I have had my children at the after school and vacation care for some time and am EXTREMELY happy with the staff and the service I have received. A new Co-Ordinator started in January, 2010 and she is young and great with the kids. There are always heaps of activities and excursions, some of them are even subsidized by the Centre.
When I collect my children they don't want to leave, which to me is a good sign.

This Centre is the best fun my child has through the holidays, being an only child who has a few issues, we send her there for socialisation and fun. The staff are always so friendly and helpful.
Thank you for providing a lovely setting for my child.
