Small Is Great

Penrose Public School is a delightful small school in the Southern Highlands of NSW. I am a local and my own three sons attended and I did duty on the P&C and served many a pancake fundraising at Brigadoon. But that is history. The P&C today is dynamic and enthusiastic and, working with the school principal, have developed a permaculture garden to provide gardening and harvesting and cooking experiences for the children. In 2008 a Sustainability Festival was held with over 1400 visitors enjoying exhibitions, talks, music, stalls and kids activities. What a gem! Public education at its best!
