Memories

I attended Wingello School during the late 1940's early 1950's. the school was orginally located in town near the railway station, then later on at the present location. Mrs. Butler and Mr. Cook were the teachers, and there were 6 or 7 students in my class, all girls and one boy!.. Mrs. Cook taught sewing, our handicrafts were always displayed in the town hall during show time. Mrs. Cook also taught piano lessons, which I attended. The school tuck shop was a fair walk down behind down the school, which we all raced for. Combined school sports day was held annually at Sutton Forest, I remember there was a film recorded showing the events at that time. It would great to see this now. The school held their annual concert performed by the students at the town hall, always well supported by the community, and what fun we all had!

Hi to all now attending Wingello Public school.

I attended the school in 1950-1-2 From my memory [ which isn't very accurate of those days ] I seem to remember that the school was located near the railway station and was moved to its present location while I was attending there.

I have a photo with my brother and I standing in the front of "Wingello House", refer to Wingello history on this site,

If there any other "old"students reading this entry give me an email.

Best
