I Love Frensham!
Posted by Anonymous User at Monday 25 April 2011
I am in year 7 at Frensham and I am 11 years old. I am the youngest in my year but that does not matter because age or size ( I am also close to the shortest at this school) doesn't matter here. I am a weekly boarder and I live in Sydney. I absoloutley love Frensham and I am very grateful to my parents for giving me such a great opportunity to go here. I know many day girls, some of which are close friends. Although I have only been here for a term, I know everything so well. I know nearly everyones name, the Frensham slang, the routine and the school. But there is still so much for me to learn about Frensham which is good since I am going to stay here until year 12. I have never learnt a musical instrument before but here at Frensham I have been given the opportunity to start clarinet, which I am sure I will love. But whats out of school is the best thing! The fun we have in the afternoons or the days when I have an after school activities are just to hard to describe. I love Frensham, I am so glad I am here!
That's sweet

I am a day girl, and I love it. I don't feel left out and I am welcome to be 'in the house' whenever I want, and stay over some nights if there is anything special happening, I am as much a part of Frensham as any border. Frensham is a great school and a special experience. It offers so much more than a great education. I love it, and am so thankful I can go there!

I am considering sending my two young daughters to GIbGate/Frensham as day girls and this would require a move from Sydney to SH's (big decision). I was wondering if there are any day-girls out there who could give me some insight into their experience (ie. do they feel left out?). Also, is there much truth to the post about only the super rich fitting in? My life experience tells me that only a minority of people really think like that.
Cheerio and thank you in advance!
NOT SO GOOD
Posted by Anonymous User at Monday 01 December 2008
Well my opinion is that like at Frensham there are always going to be groups of girls in boarding schools who didn't like the feeling of abandonment by being placed there by their parents, then they take their frustrations out on others. Frensham is like many other boarding schools where girls and boys too are basically growing up without their parents around most of the time to guide them. I am a christian and I would have rathered that I was at school with more girls with a real true christian attitude. There isnt much of that here quite honestly.
Great School

I go Frensham at the moment and absolutely love it. If every girl at Frensham posted a comment you WOULD get the true picture - it's an amazing school and you make friends who will stay wih you for life. It's very supportive and it's like a home away from home. As for the expensive fees, they're about the same as other private girls schools in Sydney and are DEFINATELY WORTH IT!!
HORRIBLE BULLIES
Posted by Ella at Monday 04 August 2008
I absolutely HATED! this school .
I was there for three years and the bullies there are unbelievable, they almost destroyed my life. The only girls who actually fit in are are the super rich, so unless you are in that category or want your daughter to graduate as an elitist snobby foul mouthed prig you should avoid this place at all costs.
It costs a fortune by the way $20,000+ per year as a day girl, almost twice that for a boarder. If all the girls rated this school and I hope that they do, then you would get the true picture.
What a wonderful oppourtunity

Hi readers
I go to Frensham at the moment and I love every m inute of it. I have experienced both boarding and being a day girl but the sense of community in that school is one that you will never find any where else. Our teachers WANT to teach us and they mkae every opportunity one to remember. And the girls - they are my family. At Frensham we are all one big happy family. If you are reading this and are thinking of sending your daughter to Frensham I really hope you do because you wont find a school like it any where else - and no, I am not just writing that because it is a duty to the school of which I belong, I am writing it becasue I have chosen to - because I WANT to.
I love Frensham and I thank my parents for giving me such an opportunity.
Frensham girl, and proud

I attended Frensham in Mittagong from Year 7-Year 9 (2006-2008) and I loved every minute of it. I left because my family and I moved to England. I was living in Bowral, but I was boarding because I had a bursary. Boarding was an AWESOME experience and I will never ever forget it. The friends I made at Frensham are friends for life. Frensham is a great school, and very unique. I am proud to have gone there, and experienced all the great things about it.
The best school in Australia
Posted by Libbi Armati at Tuesday 01 May 2007
I attended Frensham from 1959-1962 and found it to be the most enriching experience both culturally and academically. The quality of the teaching staff, and the all-inclusive personal development provided by the ethos of the school could never be replicated anywhere else in Australia. It is more than a school - it is a lifestyle and a guide for life in the outside world. May Frensham always be there .... the girls who came out of the school have more than excelled in whatever walk of life they chose! I am proud to have been a Frensham girl.
