The Southern Highlands Vaulting Team

The Southern Highlands Vaulting Team is based near Berrima with training sessions also taking place at Kangaloon on Wednesday evenings. Vautling is an ancient equestrian sport originating from the roman times and brought to Australia by the Mounted Police. It is essentially gymnastics and dance on the back of a moving, lunged horse.

Our horses are highly trained and educated with a fitness regime that ensures the horses and vaulters enjoy this sport at the safest possible level. All major competitions in NSW and ACT are attended with a team entered at the Nationals each October.

In 2005 SHVT was awarded Vaulting Team of the Year at the South Australian Nationals. Members range in age from 6 â�� 22 and new members are welcome to join.
