Do not stay here

What a waste of money this place is. It is dirty, run down and horrible. Could not get breakfast till 8am, not good if you want to get on the road early. The lock on the door was broken so had to use the lounge against the door as security. The furniture, sheets and bathroom were all part of a one star hotel.

What a waste of money. It is disgusting and dirty, the place was horrible and reeks of dirty dam smells. Could not get service to fix a tv that did not work. we gave up trying... The lock on the door was broken and we could not open a window. The furniture was stained and showed dirty marks, sheets and bathroom were all part of a O star hotel.
Better off camping

Don't waste your money on this one and dont be fooled by the availability of the rooms. As we discovered the place is only open on weekends and is actually due for demolition. The web site for the Ivy Tudor gives a completely false impression. Basically it is a dump, Ok it is the cheapest in Bowral but for heavens sake spend a bit more and stay elsewhere. Did you ever see the film 'PSYCHO', you know, 'NORMAN BATES', Yes thats the one, well this is its twin brother. We would have been better off camping.
Do Not Stay at Ivy Tudor Motor Inn

Would you like hot water in the shower? Would you like to hear the people in the next room use the toilet, or worse still FLUSH the toilet? Would you like a swim in the unclean pool? Would you like to try and watch tv on the world's smallest tv screen? How about a bed which has a plank of wood between the two mattresses? Seriously, then don't stay here. We stayed here on March 14, 2008 and the plumbing is noisy and has serious problems, the stairs haven't been swept for months, so careful you don't slip!! There's a light on the verandah which is left on ALL night, so you can't sleep, the light's probably so you don't fall on the dangerous stairs? Would the place fall down while we were sleeping? A scarey unkempt place, pay $20 more and stay at a REAL motel, where they fall over themselves to make sure you're looked after!
top spot

My husband and I stayed at the Ivy last week and were absolutely disgusted. DO NOT STAY HERE. We ended up leaving and staying somewhere else and management didn't care about our comments.
Something smells fishy... and it's not just the sheets

I notice the only two positive reviews were both posted on the same day and both have the same spelling mistake ("hear" instead of "here"). The overwhelming condemnation of the other reviews was enough to put us off, we'll stay somewhere else. So thanks
Without doubt..worst accom ever

This place is dreadful. Tired, rundown and smelly. Everthing you touch falls apart and it's dark with no airflow. The beds don't feel clean. Dreadful. Book anywhere else but there.
its ok

we have stayed here and spent our anniversary with our 3 children in tow for about 5 years - sure it is not luxury but it is what you make it after all - so some of you guys need to get real and stop worrying about the material things in life !!
So sad
Posted by Anonymous User at Wednesday 28 October 2009
Years ago me and my family stayed here. Today we drove past it and it is all boarded up and looks like something out of a ghost town. We took photos. All the doors were open and it looks as though the local kids have been having there fun. So sad to see after having a good time there so many years ago. No one in the town seems to know what happened unless they don't want to tell....
A dump with potential
Posted by M Fabian at Friday 25 December 2009
This place has finally been demolished to make way for (I believe) another retirement village (just what Bowral needs). The owners virtually closed the full time doors in September 2007 when they sacked all their full time employees with no notice. They ran this place into the ground and had NO interest in keeping it's custom up. They were not interested in negative comments because they didn't care. They were waiting for Council approval. But the place was a dump.
used to work there

i worked at the ivy in the late 90's early 2000's - back then it was maintained regulary - the rooms were to the highest quality! dirty pool and unswept paths were not heard of when i was there - there was regular room inspections and a permanent maintenance man! I drove passed a couple of years after i left and thought "wow they have let this place go" its a real shame as it WAS a gr8 place once!
