food let down
Posted by Sydneysiders at Tuesday 08 November 2011
A few friends and myself found this modern looking cafe after a car trip down from sydney last friday (28th) as we walked in it was clear the place was popular and busy but despite that we were looked after very quickly the speed stopped there though after ordering and recieving our drinks we then waited a further 50 minutes for our meal, on a positive note the young waitress that served us was very friendly and happy to keep checking on us, she kept a smile on her face even after continual voiced concerns about the wait, FINALLY when our breakfast arrived, the eggs were appaling and had black grit on them, not doubt from an unclean cooking plate, the avocado was old and the salmon was not at all fresh. The presentation was also sub par. All in All it was a terrible let down, the only good thing that came out of it was our friendly waitress, although not her fault she endlessly apologised for our bad dining experiance and always kept smiling, if you go here at all go for the service of the waitstaff not the quality of food that comes out of that kitchen. sorry palate pleasure but we wont be returning any time soon

My experience was very ordinary at Palate Pleasure. Called in for breakfast on a weekday and was served in good time but the two staff members serving looked a bit tired and untidy. No one seemed overly friendly. The breakfast was very large but not something that I would be prepared to pay for again, the scrambled eggs were overcooked and the smoked salmon was thick and chunky and overall wasn't well presented on the plate.
I know they get very busy but there were not many people there at 8.30am.
Probably won't go back again.
Glass in food
Posted by Canberra Visitor at Sunday 19 September 2010
I was in Bowral on the weekend and ate at this cafe. I was very impressed with the menu selection. Unfortunately the owner let himself and his business down by insinuating that my mother was after a discount after she alerted him to the fact that there was glass in her food. His response that "this happens when you work with glass" was both offensive and extremely arrogant A sincere apology would have sufficed. Rest assured that I and my fellow diners will go out of our way not to recommend this eatery to anyone. I have never written a restaurant review before but felt so incensed about this experience that I felt it was necessary. Nice food but appalling hospitality.

Palate Pleasure in bowral is an indoor/outdoor cafe that encompasses all the qualities of fine dining. A busy cafe located just of the main street allows for a unique and enjoyable atmosphere. The service is prompt and friendly, and the food is superb! Cakes made on site ensure they are fresh and tastey. A cafe definately worth a visit if youre anywhere in the southern highlands.
