Great Value

Just wanted to pass on what a great dining experience we had on the nights of the 27th and 28th December. The first night saw us both have steaks done exactly to the request of Medium and the second night both my Parma and my wife's Fish of the Day were great. The service was also very good, attentive without being intrusive. The only negative was the Sour Dough loaf on the 2nd night was about half the size of the first - a minor detail but consistency is nice.

We struggled to find somewhere in Bowral to eat what we considered was good value - The Royal hit the mark. Well done to all.

My husband and I have been supporting the royal for some years now through the highs and lows. Since the new management has taken over in the recent months we have found ourselves returning once a month. We were sceptical because of past inconsistency but we are convinced they are moving forward. Just want to congratulate the young couple now in charge. Great effort for two youngsters!

well well well you defently come along some difrent customs but i have been to the restaurant and had many great meals there have not had one thing to complain about the service was great my honest opinion is it is just as easy to say things about the presentation but is alot harder wen u have 4-5 difrent kinds of meals coming in at once give the chefs some consideration n dont be soo fussy things happen in a kitchen that most people would not understand

We had 19 people in our group on a busy Saturday night and every one of us were incredibly impressed with this restaurant. The size of the servings were amazing, the food tasted every bit as good as it looked and the service was superb.

All our meals came out quickly and together for each course. Given that they let our group order alla carte made it even more impressive when you consider most places try to lock you into a set menu situation which doesn't suit everyone.

The seafood was fresh and the meat dishes were all cooked to individual requirements and satisfaction. The Lamb rack was spectacular.

The prices were cheap for the amount of food we had. We'll definitely be back.

While visiting beautiful Bowral for a Day on the Green last week, we were very delighted to have a delicious meal at the Royal Hotel Steakhouse.

Four of us had different meals, all brought in timely manner and with friendly service.

The soft shell crab was very light and crisp, and the salad dressing with it was excellent.

My partner was very happy with his mixed grill, a great standard to have in a pub restaurant, which doesn't look like any ordinary pub bistro.

After you walk through the traditional pub at the front, you enter a space that is light and airy, with an al fresco feel to it, and you can continue to the outside eating area if you wish.

dissappointing

What used to be a great atmosphere is no more.Staff disinterested & lacked interpersonal skills.Music noisy,selection of wines limited. Had to ask for water.

Steaks tough & jus oily & thin. Some vegies OK but others not cooked at all.Oysters were good.Main entry doors locked. No direction to side door.Service poor.Just a big dissappointment & a waste of money for what was meant to be an enjoyable Sunday lunch.

Sad! Revisiting as we enjoyed a fabulous meal on a previous occasion.

17/5 pm - Our starter bread & SnP squid entree never arrived, and after 30mins was served our mains. Burnt flavor on petite medium steak though nice n tender on inside of steak. Jacket potato was not hot, tasted like as if it's fried, with large lump of cream (does not look fresh as cream did not melt into potato). Vegetables (beans tasted raw, carrot OK, and zuchini was nice). Cafe jus on the steak was oily..... Very disappointed with quality of food. Beer order was also forgotten. Restaurant still has the cosy ambience. Service was attentive upon entry.
