EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING

Posted by Linda Wiese at Monday 07 May 2012

Don't go there! I am one of a group of some 140 people who meet at the Robertson Country Inn each May for lunch and an afternoon of jazz. Each year we have a difficult time organising this event as the management is generally unprofessional and very hard to work with.

This year's event on 6 May 2012 was the worst yet and despite the Inn being a great place for a large group, unfortunately we will now need to find a new venue.

Despite many phone calls and emails, we discovered on arrival that staff had not set up for us and some 50 people were without seating for at least an hour until extra seating could be found.

A special menu had been organised but this was totally ignored on the day. Most of the regular menu dishes were also unavailable and our group was forced to eat mostly hamburgers and small serves of fish & chips. The majority of our group found the meals very average and expensive for the size of the serves.

Wine glasses were non-existent for a time but eventually enough were found. There was no wine list and prices for the same bottle of wine varied by as much as $7. As the afternoon wore on, wine prices got dearer as Inn staff appeared to be adding a loading to each bottle.

The whole experience was a nightmare and extremely disappointing. The management displayed a very unprofessional attitude to its guests and the performance of the Inn on this occasion was disgraceful. They don't deserve your business.

A beaut stopover!

NOT kid friendly

Posted by Tina at Sunday 15 May 2011

Went today to celebrate a family birthday. There was a jazz festival being held there so very busy and a set menu but that was all good.

Ordered our meals and asked to order a bowl of chips for our children. Chips weren't on the set menu but chips where available with other meals eg: Turkey roll and chips. Manager refused.

I asked why not? Why could the kitchen not get some chips that they were cooking and put some in a bowl for my children? Still wouldn't budge, chips weren't on the set menu. What the heck? Are you kidding? Checked yet again that was I correct that they wouldn't sell me a bowl of chips... Yep that was right. No chips on the set menu by themselves therefore no chips for sale.

We left and had a lovely lunch at the Chats Cafe which was just down the road, great atmosphere, food and music.

Very disappointing and not good for business Robbo pub.

A GREAT LOCAL IS BACK!!

MONDAY 9TH MAY 2011!!! Quite literally this week the hotel has taken on a new Licensee & she's brilliant! Friendly, professional & lived locally for years.

Even better a brand new Chef has taken over & ran a fantastic Mother's Day lunch just past - even with the power blowing half way through service - we had a delicious meal with little wait.

The pub just felt & looked great & the Licensee was extremely warm & friendly. I'll definitely be back.

It's a great pub,,,but:()00

Not so Happy Mothers Day

Posted by David Birmingham at Monday 12 May 2008

We booked a table for our whole family for Mother's Day Lunch. An event we were much looking forward to after eating here a year ago and enjoying great atmosphere, good music and children-friendly environment.

Unfortunately our previous good experience was the complete opposite this time.

After waiting for more than 2 hours after ordering, most of us still did not have our meals. Those that did were very disapointed.

It was an unpleasant and embarrassing experience.

Unfortunately the staff were more concerned with making excuses and blaming the cooks (who were clearly understaffed), than acknowledging our situation or god-forbid, even apologising.

I expect Mother's Day to be busy...you'd think those running the Bistro would expect the same and be prepared.

A full refund wasn't enough to compensate for 2 hours travel and very hungry stomachs.

The food.

Robertson Inn have recently hired a new member of staff to which i believe is going to give the place a real name. The new head chef is doing amazing things and serving up some absolutely wonderful food.i have heard nothing but great review. I believe that he has created a menu to suit almost anyone (even the fussiest of food critics). So congradulations to the new head chef.

Fun at the Robertson Inn

Posted by Dicky at Saturday 23 September 2006

As an ex local of Robertson I always enjoy heading back to the Robertson Inn to catch up with old friends and have a fun night catching up. It is always full of friendly faces and has its own unique blend of regulars as well as attracting people who are new to the area and people passing through town.

There is always a long list of upcoming entertainment such as live bands, karaoke and at some special events even the mechanical bull or snowboard.

Their bistro is serviced by a recently renovated kitchen that is run by a friendly and knowledgable staff and has always got some great food on the menu.

So weather you are looking for a place to have a fun night out or you are just after a place to stop in and have a good feed, I highly reccomend the Robertson in (or as we all know it 'The Pub') for people of all ages to mingle and enjoy themselves.
