Japanache

At first I couldn't believe that such a quality assortment of Japanese imported antiques would exist in Mittagong, but when my wife and I saw the exciting range of quality furniture, artefacts, screens, stone lanterns and printed fabrics I knew we had found exactly what we had been seeking in Sydney. The prices were anything but Sydney prices and we spent up big. Well done Japanache!
Homesick

Wow!! What a surprise!!!!
After living in Sydney for 25 years, I never thought such a place would exist in Australia. I have been to other Japanese-style shops in Sydney and found they don't possess any Japanese spirit. Japanache brings more than just Japanese artifacts to Australia. It captures the true Japanese spirit. It may just be because Naomi san is Japanese, however, I feel it is more that they have a strong connection with Japan. This is evident in the store layout, range of goods and the welcoming one feels upon entering Japanache.
I no longer need to fly for 9 hours when feeling homesick. I just need to take a short and very easy 1 hour trip from the Sydney CBD.
I recommend Japanache to anyone visiting or passing Mittagong that wants to experience a taste of true Japanese lifestyle. Well Done Naomi san and Richard san. Omedeto!
What a treasure chest

I have to admit, I was absolutely blown away with this store. It should be in Sydney.
I came upon it by chance after hearing about their television commercial. I am an interior designer by trade and could not believe that they sell quality pieces at prices that are far better than the mob in Sydney. I purchased 6 items and have saved nearly $4500 when compared to the only other importer of Japanese goods in the greater Sydney area.
I strongly recommend to all Sydneysiders who are after quality, authentic Japanese pieces to take the freeway down to Mittagong. It took me just over 1 hour from the inner city (without any traffic lights!!)
Upon entering the store I was welcomed with a smile by one of the owners, offered a cup of tea and then left alone to explore each section of Japanache. (This is in contrast to the cold welcome received at a northern sydney store)
Seriously, if you want a Japanese experience without the airfare, then head out to Japanache. Naomi, Richard and their gorgeous son Charlie should be nominated for an award.
AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT!!
