For anyone even contemplating shopping at this store think again! The quality of service offered here is deplorable. The attitude of store staff is rude, unintelligible and the focus is on getting a sale at any cost to the consumer – even if that means lying about the currency of stock and the ability of garments to be altered. I feel sorry for the community of Bowral that such a blight on the town exists. Two thumbs down for ‘Hers and Mine’.

Having to find a suitable outfit for an upcoming event for a reasonable price, I asked around for stores that others have bought from. I decided to check any store in Bowral for an outfit I might consider, and decided that, from what I could see through the window, Hers and Mine may have what I was looking for. Upon entering, I was immediately jumped by both staff who were working there at that time, without being given a chance to browse for myself. I was given no chance of explaining what I was looking for and even when I eventually had that chance, they were still extremely pushy, suggesting things that were overly expensive for what they were (where a few shops down I could get an item extremely similar for a reasonable price). After telling them that I would consider coming back, they resorted to grabbing any item they felt need be off of the racks and telling me they would be good, even those that I wouldn't consider to fit my body type, as well as items that were 8 and even 10 sizes above my own. Adding onto that, they were pushing items onto me there were completely unsuitable for the event I was dressing for. A hooded jacket for a formal event, really, ladies?
They clearly were only trying to make a sale at any expense. While I understand that they may be desperate for customers, I found myself rushing out of there within 5 minutes. I would not consider shopping here again and would not recommend anyone in doing so.

On Sunday 22/08/09 I purchased a red shirt and a white vest for my mother who wasn't with me at the time, and as I contemplated whether to get these items or not because they might not be the right size, the shop attendant quickly suggested that I could exchange them and gave me a week to do so. Unfortunately, the garments were not the right size, hence I proceeded to ring the store on Wednesday and I was unimpressed with the customer service I received. While I am stating my name and recalling the date and type of purchase, I was interrupted with her lack of phone manner and rude tone of voice, and before even checking whether she had any other sizes, quickly suggested by her demeanour the uncertainty of availability and possibility of a favourable resolution for me. As it was becoming obvious that, the strategy was to make a quick sale (not small by any means $230), and disregard a customer after that, I suggested to post the garments to keep my end of the verbal agreement, to which she agreed to give me a credit voucher. Furthermore, I have had also the opportunity to own a business and understand the intricacies of serving the public, however there is no room for arrogance or intolerance, and if that is the case, these people should not be in this industry.
