Great shop

We live in the Southern Highlands and every visit to Berrima included dropping into this fine shop. We even brought overseas guests here too who shopped and were delighted with their purchases. Unusual and excellent quality stock. Friendly staff and a cosy ambience. Even the cats are friendly and not underfoot. So sad to see this shop close - will be missed.

Does this business ever sell anything?
What a rude lot, one that appeared to be dominant 'the owner' and the harrassing assistant.
And then there is the cat in the door way who is more important than the customers.
If you harrass customers, they will not shop, get it?

A pair of wool pants bought at the Cottage had many moth holes which made it unwearable. I rang the shop to but I was told that it was not enough to talk to them on the phone, I had to write. I did so but nothing happened so I had to chase up the matter again for the 3rd time. This time the owner Jan Weeks was there and I had a very unpleasant telephone call with her. First she claimed that whoever spoke to me the first time did not tell her about this matter and then claimed that she had lost the letter. Then she said that the shop did not sell that particular brand of pants, so it could not be replaced. Finally she said she did not have my card number so I had to give it to her over the telephone. She made some personal remarks saying I was “petty’’, etc. After this conversation, another person in the shop called me back and said the money would be reaccredited as soon as possible, the same time as the pants were received by them. The pants have been sent back but so far nothing has happened,so they do not carry out what they say. The Cottage Berrima was unprofessional and incompetent in dealing with this.

Just the best of everything - quality, variety etc, could have spent my whole holiday in there, and all my spending money!! Must return one day to purchase some Liberty fabrics.
