Mount Gibraltar is a great lookout over Mittagong and Bowral.
It is locally known as the 'Gib' and the Bowral pool is situated below it.
It has fantastic veiws of the lush Southern Highlands. The rolling hill sides of the fresh Australian country.
A great way to experience the native life of the Southern Highlands and your inner country bumkin.

Mt Gibraltar must have had great views many years ago, but now trees have grown to obscure them. I guess Wingecarribee Shire Council is locked in to its own Tree Preservation Order.
Also the picnic areas have been allowed to run down, and the parking area for one of them was almost 4WD-only.
Such a shame.
