Fabulous food & service
Posted by Anonymous User at Saturday 05 June 2010
We used Centennial Vineyards Restaurant for our wedding and I cannot rave about their food and service enough. They were our best wedding supplier by far and they not only made our whole day but our guests can't stop going on about them either. From start to finish they were extremely professional and fabulous to deal with.
Robin Murray, head chef, was just amazing. We were able to design our menu with him from scratch and he even agreed to give our guests a little speech about where all of the food they were about to eat was sourced from (all locally of course!) The food on the night was divine and the most complimented thing from our guests. We met Elizabeth (event organiser) a few days before the wedding and she put all our worries at ease as she knew about our all of our details back to front, how everything was going to run on the night and came up with great suggestions for us. The extra level of service she gave also has to be mentioned - we had brought with us many glass candlesticks for the tables and we had prepared ourselves to unpack each one out of their bubble wrap that night so that our florists wouldn't spend time unwrapping on the day while setting up. However Elizabeth told us not to worry and they would sort it all out for us. She even arranged to wrap them all back up for us for collection the following day! We had actually selected Taronga Zoo function centre initially for our wedding reception venue however we were forced to look for another venue at the last minute after we found out by chance that they had double booked us (even though we had booked the venue before the other couple...) In hindsight we couldn't have been more grateful that this happened as Centennial Vineyards was so much better in everyway in terms of staff, professionalism, food and not to mention price. Everything with Centennial Vineyards was more than perfect and I will highly recommend them as a wedding venue, special event location or beautiful night out with friends and family.
Wonderful Day!

After many recommendations, and a girls weekend away we, being 5 girls, book a table for lunch at 1.30. After turning up late and wanting to taste the wines before lunch our waiter, young Scottish Dave (?), suggested we go next door even though the kitchen closed at 2, so after tasting wine next door we were set to eat lunch. Trying to decide what to eat seemed the hardest part, as when the food arrived the conversation at the table stopped completely. We then returned nest door to try a little more wine namely the desert ones and make our purchases. Once we were all stocked up and about to head back to our home for the weekend, Satori Springs, we meet Mark. Mark having just returned from Syria and with more than likely a lot to catch up on, made the time to speak to us for a good half hour or so answering our questions about the wine, vineyard and most importantly his two dogs. This day was so memorable for all 5 of us made due the friendliness and knowledge of all the staff at Centennial wines. Thanks again!
We will certainly be back

I organised a weekend away for my husbands birthday and decided to catch up with some friends who had recently moved to Bowral as well.
Fortunately when deciding on a restaurant to meet for lunch we had both decided on Centennial vineyards. As a local thay had been several times an raved about it and as a tourist it absolutely stood out amongst the rest and was very keen to try it out.
The winery is absolutely beautiful, the grounds beautifully manicured, the staff very friendly and attentive, and the food was devine. The tasting plates were spectacular a fantastic idea, lots of thought and effort was put into the selection as they all complemented one another beautifully and every mouthful was an explosion of taste in the mouth.
Main course was eagerly awaited as the entree had left us wanting more. There was no dissapointment when it arrived. the presentation was beautiful and again the taste and flavours of the combinations of the dishes were absolutely divine.
Unfortunately we did not sample the desserts as we had planned an extravagant dinner for my husbands birthday.
Very happy customers we will definately be back and it will be highly recommended to anyone heading to Bowral.
Congratulations on a fantastic job!!!!!
Is a Saturday lunch for two at 1.15pm too much to ask for?
Posted by Ken at Sunday 19 April 2009
We were recommended to visit this "uber" winery as our friend put it, to be blown away. With no booking, my partner and I arrived hungry at 1.15pm Sat to eat. We were told that last orders were taken at one, they were full and "anyway" they had a wedding that night to prepare for. What layed in front of me must have been 100 empty seats and to the side where most of the people were eating, a handful of empty tables with their chairs.
As an owner/operator it always blows me away why, with so much money invested;(anyone who has visited this winery knows what I'm talking about), why would you not go the extra mile to please every customer. Sit us down, explain that you only have time to serve mains, maybe only two courses available(beef/fish, c'mon no spare food before a wedding for how many?) and that you need the restaurant back at two?
Mark Best once told me the only difference between three michelin star restaurants and the others was not the money involved, but the care taken.
With staff hanging around and a huge sign out the front saying "RESTAURANT OPEN" intended only for passing traffic, we walked back hungry to our car, 1.20 on a Saturday afternoon....
A beautiful wedding

We recently attended a wedding at Centennial Vineyards and it was the best service, food and venue we have been to. The set up was beautiful and we all enjoyed the outdoor log fire. Our drinks were never empty and the quality of the food was outstanding. Well done!! would love to come back.
Lovely lunch

Had a lovely lunch with patchwork friends in August, the tasting platter and the champagne were divine, but the highlight was the passionfruit souffle and sorbet Excellent!!!

Cannot agree with the other comment. Excellent location and service and the food was good. Outstanding desserts and a very generous cheese platter. Daily tasting platter was an excellent entree
