Tulip Time 2006
Tulip Time will be held in Bowral, Mittagong, and Moss Vale from the 21st of September to the 8th of October 2006.
Tulip Time will be very special this year as we are privileged to have had Archibald Prize winner John Olsen design an Octopus's Garden, not in paint but in masses of tulips for the many 1000's of people who will visit Tulip Time in the Southern Highlands this year.
Tulip Time 23rd to 24th September.
The first weekend of Tulip Time set amongst John Olsen's Octopus design is a celebration of the Arts, having acclaimed artists demonstrate sculpture and painting in Corbett Gardens. Come along to meet these talented artists, take the opportunity to learn some finer artistic skills and purchase some of the works for sale.
The Southern Highlands has really been bitten by the Beatles bug, not only will the shop window displays in the towns and villages be dressed up in the Beatles theme, but Beatles hits will be played continually throughout the region. There will be a fantastic Beatles concert at the Mittagong RSL Club on Friday night 22nd Sept, featuring the BEATELS.
Tulip Time 30th of September to the 2nd of October.
Visit the Tulip Time Specialist Garden Show over the October long weekend, in Corbett Gardens with masses of colorful tulips as the perfect backdrop. See specialist nurseries from around Australia with new and exciting plants from Italy, France and China. Also take the opportunity to see stunning garden wares, garden furniture and everything for your garden.
Tulip Time 7th and 8th October.
The last weekend of Tulip Time in Corbett Gardens is the Food and Wine Festival.
The region is fast becoming one of Australia's foodies destinations. There are over 60 vineyards and only three regions in Australia producing intensely varietals cool climate wines. Winemakers are already notching up some impressive wines, rated a four and a half star amongst the top 15% of wineries in Australia. Home to some of the best cheese, fresh produce, jams, sauces and chefs, your taste buds will be tingling!
Along the way, on the same weekend as the Food and Wine Festival stop at Winifred West Park in Mittagong to see and enjoy the Australian Mechanical Organ exhibition. The beautifully restored organs come from overseas and Australia wide and give enormous entertainment for all ages.
